Cats & Dogs
Over the years my family and I have owned quite a few pets (dogs, cats, budgies, cockatiels, tortoises, hamsters, gerbils, canaries, fish, a pigeon and a rat). I now only have one cat and she pretty much rules my life. I have unwittingly encouraged her to sleep with us and now she wakes me many times in the night in order to get in and out of the bed. I ruined any chances of getting myself “a good night’s sleep” and even though I harbour a slight sense of shame that I allowed this to happen I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I would actually love to have another docile doggie buddy but my furry feline friend has made it clear that she doesn’t want to share her living space. To this end I have joined the Cinnamon Trust and now get to walk a lovely old black Labrador called Jacob for his wonderfully caring but partially disabled owner, Terry. It’s the next best thing to owning a pooch myself, without the cost and 24 hour commitment.
To get nearer to my canine companions I am also studying “Canine Care and Behaviour” with a view to one day being able to help dog owners in identifying and eliminating unwanted behaviours in their pets.
